Patrice
(Patti) C. Moore Patrice C. Moore, RN, MSN, has been a healthcare professional for 25 years and was administrator of Hospice of North Central Florida for nearly 16 years. During that time the program grew from a small hospital based hospice with three staff members, to one of the largest hospices in the country serving more than 260 patients in 11 counties in north central Florida (an area the size of the state of Massachusetts). Her accomplishments include:
The Hospice House Care Center was conceived by Patti after she saw many dying people living alone in North Central Florida, without caregivers. After a successful $4 million capital campaign, the House was completed in 1997. Hospice House includes administrative offices, a large community room for workshops, training, and meetings and 18 private rooms for patients in need of residential or inpatient care. The Hospice House grounds include a butterfly garden, a koi pond, and a memory walk, which is a collection of bricks engraved with names of memorialized or honored people. Patti is active in the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the National Hospice Work Group. During her two-term presidency and 15 years as a board member of the state hospice organization (Florida Hospice and Palliative Care), she developed innovative initiatives to promote the cause of hospice. Patti was a consultant/surveyor for the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and also provided national training for JCAHO on Quality Assurance and Program Assessment. Patti’s goal is to provide compassionate leadership to her clients, just as she has for nearly 16 years to the hospice industry.
